Firefox

The browsing assistant that thinks with you, not for you

You’re on the list!

Smart Window Beta is here, a new take on AI built into Firefox. It works with your open tabs and connects the dots – so you get better answers faster without giving up control.

A different kind of privacy-first AI.

On your terms.

Your chats stay private

Unlike most AI assistants, Mozilla doesn’t keep your chat transcripts, use your conversations to train models, or sell your data. To keep Smart Window running reliably, we process limited technical information, like response times and token usage. Your chat content is only shared if you choose to share it.

You decide what it uses

“Memories” help Smart Window get more useful over time, without compromising your privacy. They’re stored on your device, not on Mozilla’s servers and we always try to filter out sensitive data, or data that is unique to you. You can see what’s been remembered, delete what doesn’t fit, or turn it off completely.

Here’s what people are saying

The most value is when searching for a range within a product category and wanting to see different items with their prices. The side chat can explain the differences, while the webpage can show the actual products.

I was trying to be as vague as possible to the assistant to find past searches and I still got what I needed from history… this is pretty cool.

The most valuable part of the smart browser is how it interacts with each other… That to me makes the tasks that I am trying to accomplish very easy.

The window always being there allows me to increase how much I use AI. It allows me to interact with information as thoughts come up instead of waiting until I have the opportunity to look things up.

This smart browser was able to summarize/sift through the seller's account history and buyer reviews in a much shorter period of time than it would have taken me to do it manually.

I think Memories is interesting, especially for someone who does a lot of research, just kind of like keeping tabs of what they were researching, and their train of thought.
