97.0 Firefox for Android Release

Version 97.0, first offered to Release channel users on 8 February 2022

We'd like to extend a special thank you to all of the new Mozillians who contributed to this release of Firefox!

We now show you a prompt when you attempt to leave private browsing with active downloads. We won’t let you lose that important information!

We’ve improved performance when it comes to a cold start.
You’ll see we’ve fixed the order of items in your history. They go from newest to oldest, just as you’d expect them to.
Now, Talkback reads "Button" aloud just once for the "Show all" button on the home screen–as it should!
Tab group titles are no longer the wrong color when in private mode! Text is now easily visible.
And when dark theme/private mode is enabled, you can see the icons for bookmarks, folders and downloads. Voila!
Plus, the app no longer crashes when returning to the add-on details menu after changing your device language.
Firefox is no longer slow to search stored passwords. We’re all about saving you time!
